Naidu leaves for Delhi to seek funds for State

With only three days left for close of the current financial year, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu left for New Delhi on Friday to take up release of pending funds to the State with the Union Ministers.

A team of Secretaries from various departments have been in Delhi following up with Central departments for the funds promised to the State and ensure release of dues under the 13{+t}{+h}Finance Commission.

Before leaving for Delhi, the Chief Minister told the AP Legislative Council that his government was pursuing vigorously with Centre the promised special category status, incentives to industries, funds for capital and compensation for the revenue deficit.

Tight schedule

Besides visiting Delhi, Mr. Naidu has lined up a tight tour schedule for the next four days.

From Delhi, he would leave for Tirupati on Saturday to participate in the foundation laying ceremony for IIT, IIIT, IISER and return to city in the night. Union Ministers, Smirti Irani and M. Venkaiah Naidu are also attending this function.

After offering his respects at NTR Ghat here on Sunday to mark the Telugu Desam Foundation Day he would leave for Pattiseema to lay foundation for the Lift Irrigation works, address a public meeting and then participate in the Party Foundation Day celebrations at Thullur in Guntur district. He would return to city to participate in celebrations at NTR Trust Bhavan.

Mr. Naidu would fly to Singapore on Sunday night to participate in the high-level meeting on capital construction on Monday and return to Delhi the same night.
