House site scheme: officials to conduct demand survey

Revenue officials of East Godavari district are making arrangements to conduct a demand survey to identify vacant lands for distribution of house sites to the beneficiaries.

The department has stopped distribution of house sites as it has decided to first identify the available land to bridge the gap between the demand for house sites and available vacant land. Once the survey is completed and lands are identified, the officials will resume the distribution of house sites.

Joint Collector S. Satyanarayana said that those who wish to apply for house sites could submit applications to the Tehsildars concerned and the same would be considered once the lands were identified. Interacting with people during the weekly ‘Dial Your Collector’ programme at the Collectorate here, Mr. Satyanarayana said: “On our part, we are going to take up the demand survey from the next month. The distribution will depend on the government’s decision,” he said in response to four callers, who sought house sites in their respective villages.

A few farmers raised issues of non-implementation of farm loan waiver and input subsidy and the Joint Collector promised that he would look into the pleas.
