Cops issue Charge Memos for AP cheat case exploitation

Charge Memos have been issued to two Policemen by East Godavari Police for mishandling the case of a man identified as Avinash who claiming to be a relative of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister N Chinna Rajappa, cheated people.

Police said that Avinash claimed to be holding cabinet rank, travelled around in a posh car with a VIP beacon atop it cheated many people, NGOs and educational institutions collecting huge amounts of money from them.

Against Avinash, the Peddapuram police has registered offences under various IPC sections, including 506 (criminal intimidation) read with 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 324, 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 342 (wrongful confinement).

Search for the accused is on in AP, Telangana and other states with six police teams formed. A corporate school in Peddapuram town approached police on Tuesday alleging that a person named Avinash threatened their school of severe consequences for lack of basic amenities.

Issuing the charge memos to Peddapuram circle inspector Sridhar Babu and sub-inspector B Siva Krishna for failing to get information on him and not dealing the case properly, District SP K Ravi Prakash said that Kakinada SC/ST cell’s DSP has been deputed to conduct an inquiry against the two policemen.
