Andhra New Capital Name Amaravathi

Andhra Pradesh government has completed the land pooling process and pooled in more than 32000 acres in the capital notified areas. The CRDA had already started leveling of lands in some villages and on the other side, the government is gearing up to announce the name of the capital.It is reliably learnt that Amaravathi is finalized as the name of the capital. Earlier there were proposals of naming it after TDP Founder NT Rama Rao but Chandrababu avoided not to give chance for controversies. Government had consulted various sections of historians and people before finalizing the name. The announcement is likely to come in this Assembly session itself.Amaravati is an internationally popular name and it is likely to attract Buddhist tourism from across the globe. Dhanyakataka, present Amaravathi, was the capital of the Satavahana dynasty that ruled the Deccan from the 1st to 3rd centuries CE. Amaravathi means the city of who have no death i.e., Gods.
