Man hangs self, cops suspect family feud

Visakhapatnam: A 35-year-old man hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Simhagiri Colony near Gajuwaka area on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as D Sunil Kumar of Rajahmundry Town in East Godavari district.
Police said that Sunil Kumar along with his family members (wife and two daughters) had come to Visakhapatnam city in search of livelihood a few years ago and he was working with a civil contractor at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
Sunil Kumar’s wife has been working in Kuwait for the past one year and his two children stay with his in-laws in East Godavari.
Preliminary questioning revealed that Sunil Kumar had spent Monday night with his friends and cousins at Gajuwaka and his body was found hanging from the ceiling fan the next day. Police are yet to ascertain the reason for the suicide. Police suspecting familial disputes coupled with financial crisis might have driven Sunil Kumar to end his life. They have seized the deceased phone and will be examining the call data for clues.
A case has been registered under Section 174 of CrPC (suspicious death). Police handed over the body to the relatives of Sunil Kumar following the post-mortem.
