Tanisha wins Gold & Silver for Goa

PANAJI: Goa’s Tanisha Crasto won one Gold and one Silver medal during the  44th Junior National Badminton Championships 2019 at Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. Tanisha along with her partner Ishaan Bhatnagar from Chhattisgarh won Gold in the Under 19 Mixed doubles defeating Navaneeth Bokka and Sahithi Bandi 21-18, 21-13 in a thirty-four minute tussle. Tanisha had to settle for Silver in Junior Girls Doubles as she and her partner Aditi Bhatt from Uttarakhand lost to Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker from Maharashtra 14-21, 22-20, 18-21 .

Ritviz Parab tops

PONDA : Ritviz  Parab  won  the  6th  Late   Laxmikant  V.  Desai   Memorial  All India   FIDE   Rating Chess   tournament  organised  by  Ponda  Taluka  Chess  Association at  Wagle  High  school, Mangeshi,Ponda.   Prashanth  J.   stood second and    Sauravh  Khherdekar third. Abhishek  Giri,  Dmitry  Bezstrakhov,  Nilesh  Bhandari,  Ayush  Pednekar,  Paarth  Salvi, Vivaan  Ballikar,  Aryan  Raikar,  Chincholimath  Halsagar,  Asmita  Ray,  Shweta  Sahakari,  Raees  Khan,  Arnav  Kherdekar,  Heramb  Bhagwat,  Devesh  Naik,  Yash  Upadhye,  Pratik  Borkar  and  Rishikesh  Parab  came4th  to  20th  respectively  in  the open  category  .

A A de Majorda win 3-1

FATORDA: A A de Majorda scored a fluent 3-1 win over St Sebastian Union Benaulim in the Goa Football Association U-14 Second Division League at Astro Turf ground, Fatorda, on Monday. Melbon Fernandes, Aiden Dias and Brandon Fernandes scored for the winners while  Styrus Fernandes pulled a goal back for St Sebastia Union, Benaulim.
