Pramod Kumar Tiwari is Director General, BIS

New Delhi: Pramod Kumar Tiwari, IAS has assumed the charge of Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). He is a 1991 batch IAS officer. Prior to his, appointment as Director General, Tiwari has served as the Joint Secretary in the Department of Food and Public Distribution in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam in Revenue and Disaster Management and General Administration Department.

N Rly Vigilance Awareness Week enters 3rd day

New Delhi: The Northern Railway Vigilance Awareness Week (Oct 28-Nov 2, 2019) entered its third day on Thursday. The Central Function of Ministry of Railways was held at Northern Railway Headquarter Office Baroda House. Sharad Kumar, Central Vigilance Commissioner was the Chief Guest on this occasion which was attended by VK Yadav, Chairman, Railway Board, other Board members, senior Railway officials and staff. Sharad Kumar received the ceremonial “Agnishikha”, the Flame of Transparency which was earlier lit up by VK.  Chairman, Railway Board. Kumar also unveiled the vigilance souvenirs of the Railway Board and Northern Railway named “Chetna Ahwan” and “Amrit Manthan” respectively.

Punjab and Sind Bank Noida holds rally

New Delhi: Vigilance Awareness Campaign is launched by the Government of India from October 28 to November 2. To Make this flagship campaign successful, Punjab and Sind Bank, Zonal Office-Noida under the leadership of Zonal Manager Varinder Pal Singh organised the Vigilance Awareness rally. In this rally, staff of Zonal Office and staff of different branches participated. The message of honesty and corruption free society was spread in the rally. Further, people are encouraged to fight against the corruption and information regarding any corruption in any form be given to the concerned agency without fear and hatred.

GROUP CENTRE, CRPF, gr Noida OBSERVEs UNITY DAY

New Delhi: Group Centre, CRPF, Greater Noida observed National Unity Day by taking pledge on October 31 at its CRPF Campus to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. The oath was administered to all officers and Jawans by Janardhan Upadhyay, Commandant, GC CRPF, Greater Noida at station. While administering the pledge, Commandant emphasised on the need to foster and reinforce over dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity, and security of our nation. The motive was to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity, and security of our country. Besides above, personnel from Group Centre Greater Noida also participated in the programme ‘Run for Unity’ held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi.

30 more airports as ‘Single-use plastic free’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged fellow citizens to avoid using plastic bags and rid themselves of the habit of using single-use plastic bags. Proactively acting on the PM’s clarion call and as per the directions issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to beat plastic pollution 55 AAI Airports namely Agartala, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Bagdogra, Belgaum, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Bhuj, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Dibrugarh, Dimapur, Gaya, Gorakhpur, Goa, Guwahati, Imphal, Indore, Jabalpur, Jamnagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Jorhat, Kangra, Khajuraho, Kolkata, Leh, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Patna, Port Blair, Prayagraj, Pune, Rajahmundry, Rajkot, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, Silchar, Surat, Tuticorin, Tiruchirappalli, Tirupati, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Vadodara, Varanasi, Vijayawada & Visakhapatnam had been declared ‘Single-Use Plastic Free Airport Terminals’ till August 30.

Ekta Diwas observed in Maligaon

Maligaon, Guwahati: With a view to foster and reinforce our dedication to preserve; strengthen the unity, integrity of the nation, the Rastriya Ekta Diwas(National Unity Day) was observed in the Hd Qrs of NF Railway, Construction organization today on 31st October 2019. Rastriya Ekta Diwas also known as National Unity Day being observed on Thursday throughout the country to commemorate 144th birth anniversary of late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron man and Architect of India’s Freedom Movement.

RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS OBSERVED IN CLW

Chittaranjan: Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) organised a RUN FOR UNITY to commemorate the birthday of The Iron Man of India, known as the LOH PURUSH, Vallabhbhai Patel on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas today morning at Oval Ground. Ram Prakash , President, CLW Sports Association & PCEE flagged off the 3 KM Run for Staff and Officers. Officers, employees with their families and members of CLW-womens’ welfare organisation actively took part in this RUN FOR UNITY. Prizes were also given by Ram Prakash, President, CLW Sports Association & PCEE on October 31 at Oval Ground.

PIYUSH GOYAL FLAGS OFF RUN FOR UNITY HELD

New Delhi: In commemoration of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and in keeping with his lofty mission of national integration and service towards the cause of the nation, Northern Railway observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas with all divisions railway station marking special events on the occasion on Thursday. Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and launched the commemorative programmes on Railways this morning at New Delhi. Goyal led the commemorative Run for Unity, which commenced from Saloon Siding, New Delhi Railway Station, State Entry Road and passed through Connaught Circus Inner Circle.
