Rajahmundry: The ninth national conference of the All-India Federation of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers is taking place in Rajahmundry.
The national secretary of the federation, AK Sindhu who was in Rajahmundry to attend the conference said on Monday that the central government is conspiring to dilute the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and that funds are being cut.
Speaking to the media, AK Sindhu said that the supply of nutritious food to ICDS centres have been stopped for the last six months. Many women and children are suffering from anemia as a result, Sindu said.
She further alleged that the Centre is trying to change the ICDS records.
The national secretary said that the situation of ICDS centres are quite bad in BJP-ruled states.
