Senior actor and a Telegu cinema veteran, Geethanjali Ramakrishna breathed her last in the early hours of Thursday. Reportedly, the actor suffered a heart attack, while she was being operated in a private hospital in Hyderabad. With an illustrious career spanning over five decades, Geethanjali Ramakrishna featured in more than 500 films in Tamil, Malayalam and Telegu languages. The legendary actor rose to fame with the success of Seetha Rama Kalyanam, where she portrayed the character of Goddess Seetha. Here are all the details of the actor’s spectacular film career.

Geethanjali Ramakrishna film career

Geethanjali Ramakrishna kickstarted her acting journey as a child actor in Paying Guest along with Hindi cinema veterans, Dev Anand and Nutan. Born in Rajahmundry, Geethanjali marked her debut in the Telegu film industry with Seetha Rama Kalyanam. After the success of the musical drama, Geethanjali became a household name down south. The actor went on to do several commercially successful films with superstars like N.T.R, Shivaji Ganeshan, A.N.R and Rajakrishna. Famous for her films like, Bobbili Yuddham, Devatha, Letha Mansulu and Sambarla Rambabu, Geethanjali has many Filmfare awards, Nandi Awards and Railyengi awards under her belt. Geethanjali also graced the television industry with the hit daily soap, Astha Chemma. The actor was seen in a negative role in the popular television drama. Geethanjali Ramakrishnan is also lauded for her dancing skills, as the actor was a trained classical dancer and was a part of several stage shows.
