Comedian Raja Babu’s birthday fete held in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: The 83rd birth anniversary of comedian Rajababu was celebrated on a grand scale by Raja Babu Fans Association here on Sunday. Raja babu’s brother Babi and his friends garlanded the statue of Raja Babu near the Godavari Bund. They paid rich tributes to the great comedian of Telugu films.

Babi said that Raja Babu was able to secure a permanent place in the hearts of Telugu people with his innovative and noble comedy. He said that the comedy of Raja Babu would be remembered forever. Raja Babu born in 1937 at Narasapuram of West Godavari district to the couple Punyamurthula Uma Maheswara Rao and Venkata Ramanamma. He earned name anmd fame as a `comedian’ in Telugu cine field.

Raja Babu’s was the highest paid comedian in the 1970s and his remuneration was on a par with the top heroes of those days. Apart from being a great actor, Raja Babu was also associated with philanthropic activities, Babi added.
