Bengaluru gets eight new flights this week

BENGALURU: Eight new flights and routes, both domestic and international, are being introduced this week from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
While Ethiopian Airlines started a direct flight to Addis Ababa in Africa from Monday, Dutch carrier KLM on Wednesday launched a thrice-a-week direct service to Amsterdam.
The new flight departed from Schipol airport at 11.10 am Wednesday and scheduled to land in Bengaluru at 12.37am Thursday. The flight is slated to depart from KIA at 2.40am on Thursday and arrived in Schipol at 8.25am Thursday. Air France has, meanwhile, upgraded its fleet on the Bengaluru-Paris and Delhi-Paris sectors with the revamped Airbus equipped with improved cabins.
GoAir added a four times a week flight from Bengaluru and Delhi, while IndiGo introduced flights between Bengaluru and Shirdi, Rajahmundry and Belagavi from October 27. IndiGo will also commence Bengaluru-Tuticorin flights from October 31.
Tokyo-B’luru direct flights
Japan Airlines announced that the daily direct flight between Narita International Airport. Tokyo and KIA will commence from March 29, 2020. This makes Bengaluru the second South Indian city, after Chennai, with a daily direct flight to Tokyo.
Bookings will open on November 6, 2019. The service is expected to provide travellers from Bengaluru connections to/from North America.
