APSET-2019 to be held tomorrow

Visakhapatnam: A total of 34,020 candidates were registered for the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) – 2019 which will be conducted by Andhra University on October 20, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University PVGD Prasad Reddy has said.

Briefing the details about the test to the media, the V-C said the UGC granted permission to conduct APSET for 30 subjects and question paper I which is common for the candidates appearing for the test will be in bilingual — English and Telugu.

While Commerce, Economics, Education, History, Political Science, Public Administration and Sociology will be held in bilingual for those appearing for Paper II, the rest of the subjects will be held in English.

The V-C said that APSET will be conducted at eight regional centres – Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram, Guntur, Nellore, Anantapur, Tirupati, Kadapa and Kurnool. He added that there are no negative marking in APSET.

Candidates will be provided carbon-less OMR sheets with the personal data of the candidates printed during the exam.VH candidates who are utilising scribe are given 20 minutes for the Paper-I and 40 minutes for Paper-II.

While Paper I will have a set of 50 questions and carries 100 marks, Paper II with a set of 100 questions carries 200 marks. The duration for Paper I is an hour (9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.), and it is two hours for Paper II (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Member secretary of APSET K Srinivasa Rao, AU Registrar V Krishna Mohan and Media Relations Dean P.Bobby Vardhan, among others were present.
