Andhra Pradesh: The Uday double-decker express between Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada is all set to begin services from September 26. Union Railway Minister Suresh Angadi is expected to formally launch the Uday Express at the Visakhapatnam Railway Station between 10 am to 11 am. Uday express train number 22701/22702 promises to offer comfortable train travel experience to all the passengers with luxurious features.
The double-decker train will start from Vishakapatnam at 5.45 am and will run five days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday excluding Sunday and Thursday and it will reach Vijayawada at 10.50 am. On its return journey, the train will leave Vijayawada at 5.45 pm and reach Vishakapatnam at 11 pm. Uday Express will take five hours and five minutes to reach Vijayawada from Visakhapatnam and five hours and 15 minutes from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam.
Uday Express will have stoppages at Duvvada, Anakapalle, Tuni, Samarlakota, Rajahmundry and Tadepalligudem stations. The Uday train will comprise nine double-decker coaches and two power cars and the train has a seating capacity of 120 seats per coach. 50 passengers on the upper deck, 48 on the lower deck and 22 on the ends.
In fact, preparations were made for the launch of Uday on August 26. However, with the death of Union Minister Arun Jaitley, it has been postponed to September 26.
