Rajahmundry: Municipal and Police personnel were widely criticized for their role in inhumane shifting of orphan dead bodies, who died in road accidents and on the footpath. There is a possibility of providing free vehicles from Rotary Kailasabhumi to transport the bodies of orphans to the cemetery but they are not making use of it. They instead have been transporting bodies inhumanely in garbage trucks.
A photo taken by a person went viral on social media in which an orphaned body was being shifted to a cemetery in a garbage truck. Local people expressed outrage over the actions of the Police and Municipal staff.
Rotary Kailasabhumi organizer Pattapagalu Venkatrao said, two vehicles are ready to move the orphaned bodies to cemeteries for free but on the day of the incident, no information from Police and Municipal staff was passed to the authorities concerned.
