Nellore youth drowns in US

Kedarnath Reddy (22), a native of Nippon Centre here, who had gone to the U.S. to pursue MS Computer Science course in the University of Texas, died when he drowned in the Turner Falls in Oklahoma on Tuesday.

He was reportedly not wearing a life jacket, reports reaching his family here suggest. A pall of gloom descended on the house of Kedarnath Reddy here on Thursday as his mother Umamaheswari and sister Vaishnavi were inconsolable. Only three weeks ago, Reddy, who had graduated from Sriram College of Engineering, Chennai, went to the U.S. for higher studies.

Vaishnavi, who also got admission in a foreign university, preferred to continue in the job she had landed recently. Reddy’s body was expected to be brought here by Saturday, sources said.
