2 lakh to appear for village, ward secretariat exams in E. Godavari

The East Godavari administration is making necessary arrangements to conduct the written examination for recruitment of village and ward secretariat staff in the district from September 1 to 8, said Collector D. Muralidhar Reddy.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr. Muralidhar Reddy said 2,06,211 candidates would appear for the examinations slated on September 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8. About 1.25 lakh candidates would take the examination in the forenoon session on September 1. And about 30,000 would appear in the afternoon session, he said.

The Collector said 10,000 staff would be on examination duty. This would include 102 route officers, 37 flying squads, 481 centre special officers, 657 chief superintendents and additional chief superintendents, 1,667 hall superintendents and 6,226 invigilators.

Sec.144 to be in force

The candidates would have to be present at the examination centre one hour before the exam time.

No candidate would be allowed after the commencement of the test. Prohibitory orders under Sec. 144 would be in force near the exam centres and all the photocopying centres would be closed on the exam days, he added.

The RTC would run special buses and stay arrangements at Rajamahendravaram, Kakinada and Addatheegala were made for the candidates coming from distant places, a day before the exam, he said.
