Rajamahendravaram: Water Resources Development (WRD) department superintending engineer N Krishna Rao has directed the flood section officials to take preventive measures during monsoon.

As many as 27 villages in the downstream may be marooned during flood time as copper dam was under construction on River Godavari at Polavaram Project site. This information was passed on to respective revenue officials and repairs were completed to 61 out sluices in East and West Godavari districts and some weak points of river bund were identified in Kolla and Pillanka villages. Flood related material was kept ready at all points and torch lights will be given to the staff shortly.
