Rajamahendravaram: Drinking water supply would likely be restored on Wednesday to Weavers colony, Burma colony, Lalachervu areas, according to Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar.
In a press release, he said the drinking water supply was stopped to Lalachervu, Burma colony and Weavers colonies due to the damage caused to the pipelines at Kamabala tank, between head water works and Judge Bungalow on Monday night. The pipelines were laid four decades ago and they are in dilapidated condition.
The repair works are almost completed and the respective officials of water works department were directed to restore water supply from Wednesday and corporation superintending engineer Om Prakash was asked to supervise the repair works.
