Jagan attacker released on bail

Visakhapatnam: Janipalli Srinivasa Rao alias Srinivas, the prime accused in the attack on YSRC supremo YS Jaganmohan Reddy, was released on bail by NIA Special Court in Vijayawada on Thursday.
Srinivas spent over six months in jail after he was arrested on October 26, last year, for attacking Jaganmohan Reddy with a knife at the VIP lounge in Visakhapatnam Airport.
Saleem said that the court sought two solvent sureties and execute a bond for Rs 30,000. The advocate said that he will take the order to Central Prison, Rajahmundry, on Friday and take Srinivas to his hometown Thanelanka in East Godavari district.
Speaking to TOI, Srinivas’s brother J Subba Raju said Srinivas attacked Jagan to gain popularity and not to kill him. His brother, who was not aware of the consequences of the attack, was targeted by the followers of both the parties. “We hope that we are reunited with Srinivas in a couple of days,” Subba Raju added.
Sources said that Srinivas may be relieved as the new government, led by YS Jaganmohan Reddy, might drop the case.
