Chennai: A couple travelling by bus to Cuddalore lost their bag containing 35 sovereigns of gold and a laptop.
According to the police, the complaint was lodged by John Kirubagaran (39) travelling to his native place in New Town, Cuddalore, for a family function.
He boarded a Puducherry-bound bus from CMBT terminus along with his wife and had kept the bag of valuables on the rack above his seat. After settling in his seat, when the bus reached Maduravoyal he realised his bag was missing.
He lodged a complaint with the police that the bag contained 35 sovereign of gold ornaments and a laptop worth Rs 19,000. John works as professor in a college in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.
