Rs 2 cr to TDP candidate confiscated in Hyderabad

Telangana police here intercepted two persons Nimmaluri Srihari (44) and Avuti Pandari (39) at Hi-tech city railway station, Madhapur on Thursday and seized Rs 2 crores rupees carried in two bags.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar said that both revealed that they are working in Jayabheri properties and they are transporting the cash from their office to Rajahmundry to handover to TDP candidate in Rajahmundry Lok Sabha seat.

An election offence case is registered in Madhapur police station.

Sajjanar said that the duo disclosed that the money was meant for former TDP MP M Muralimohan. Muralimohan’s daughter in law is contesting the Loksabha seat in Rajahmundry.

Hyderabad police on 1 April seized Rs 24 lakh in cash from Santosh Reddy of Raptadu Mandal Anantapur of Andhra Pradesh. They were checking a private bus at Rajendranagar and found the cash. YSRCP has alleged that the cash was meant for distribution among voters in Raptadau where Paritala Ravi’s son Sriram is contesting.

Renigunta Rural Police in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday seized Rs 39 lakh unaccounted cash from a vehicle in Tirupati. The police seized the money and handed over it to Srikalahasti flying squad officers.
