HYDERABAD: Telangana police have seized Rs 22.66 crore cash across the state since March 10, when the model code of conduct came into force. Police believes that transportation of cash is likely to increase in the next few days and is focussing on Vikarabad, Malkajgiri and Secunderabad.
In connection with Rs 3.29 crore seized in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar said they are verifying the trail of the cash and its role in the election process. “Based on a tip-off, police organised checks and they came across one Chandrakanth, who was riding a twowheeler, and seized Rs 1 crore from him. Later, based on the information given by him, additional Rs 2.29 crore was seized from one Anil Kumar,” he said.
