Vacant lands with police will be leased out says, Chinarajappa

Home Minister N. Chinarajappa on Sunday said that vacant lands in possession of the police department would be leased out for construction of commercial complexes and the returns would be used for police welfare. Addressing a meeting after inaugurating a filling station established by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited at the Armed Reserve Grounds in Rajamahendravaram, Mr. Rajappa said that there were many vacant sites abutting main roads and important junctions . “Instead of keeping them vacant, we are planning to lease them out to interested parties to undertake business,” he said.

Referring to the filling station, he said that since the petrol pump was set up in the heart of the city, sale of about 1.5 lakh litres of diesel and same amount of petrol a day was being expected now. Expressing satisfaction over the prevailing law and order in the State, he said that police personnel too, were happy with the welfare activities taken up by the government. Eluru range DIG T. Ravikumar Murthy, Rajamahendravaram Urban Police district SP B. Rajakumari, Rajamahendravaram city MLA Akula Satyanarayana were present.
