GHMC bus shelter works held up
GHMC’s grandiose plan of constructing a whopping 826 modern bus shelters in the city has run into rough weather. In a majority of the cases, works have been held up & concessionaires who bagged the project have raised complaints with the corporation officials about the troubles they face. These include objections from landlords, difficulties in shifting of public utilities, footpath encroachments. Now, the Corporation has decided to form committees in all its circles to help the concessionaires resolve these problems. Zonal Commissioners would be given the charge of supervisory officer and would monitor pace of constructions. They will constitute the committee for each circle. The Deputy Commissioner will hold charge for the construction, operation and maintenance of these modern bus shelters.
