SpiceJet adds 10 new additional flights; to connect Chennai to Mangaluru directly from June

Budget airline SpiceJet is adding direct flights from Chennai to Mangaluru apart from adding 10 new flights to strengthen its South India operations. As of now, the airline operates 442 daily flights to 55 destinations – 48 domestic locations and seven international destinations – using a fleet of 37 Boeing 737NG and 22 Bombardier Q-400s.

New Delhi: Budget airline SpiceJet has announced that it is adding 10 new flights and additional frequencies aimed at strengthening its south India network. The company also announced that it will launch flight services from Chennai to Mangaluru starting June, reported news agency PTI. This will not only help the airline expand its business but also offer more options to customers frequenting the route. 

According to information, the 10 new flights will be operated with regional Bombardier Q-400 regional jets, said the company in a release. A part of the expansion plan includes the introduction of direct flight services from Chennai-Mangaluru circle starting June. Meanwhile, the services on the Hyderabad-Rajahmundry services are also being enhanced as an extra flight in the evening from May 25. Besides, Chennai-Kozhikode and Bengaluru-Kozhikode would also get additional flights in the evening apart from a third Chennai-Hyderabad flight, starting June 16.  

Services on the Hyderabad-Rajahmundry are being enhanced with an additional evening flight from May 25, while Chennai-Kozhikode and Bengaluru-Kozhikode would have an additional evening flight and a third on the Chennai-Hyderabad route, starting June 16, the airline said.

Shilpa Bhatia, chief sales and revenue officer, SpiceJet, said: “SpiceJet is on the path of a major fleet expansion which means new routes and destinations for our customers. We have introduced evening flights on key sectors which will operate in addition to the existing morning flights and help business travellers conveniently plan same-day trips.”
