Hyderabad: About 214 jail inmates, including six women from various central prisons in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, appeared for the Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) Eligibility Test (ET) on Sunday.
From Cherlapally Central Prison, 40 prisoners attended the test, 39 from Warangal, 76 from Rajahmundry, 23 from Nellore and 36 from Kadapa.
Overall 11,432 candidates took the examination in about 156 test centres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Prof K Seetharama Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU, and Prof C Venkataiah, Registrar, Dr G Laxma Reddy, and other officials of the university visited the examination centres in Mahabubnagar district.
Candidates who clear the ET will be given admission into B.A/B.COM/B.Sc. courses for the academic year 2018-19 at BRAOU.
