Mayor P. Rajani Sesha Sai has said that the 26-member team, which undertook 16-day tour to southern states, will soon submit its report on different projects. Based on it, various schemes will be implemented by the Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday, the Mayor said the team visited Crocodile Park in Chennai and wanted a similar one or a snake park on the outskirts of the city to attract tourists. She said that the corporation was planning to introduce a system under which bicycles would be given on rent to avoid pollution on the lines of a scheme being implemented in Karnataka. She said that for this, the RMC plans to lay a separate bicycle path along the Godavari bund.
The other proposals include wet garbage management system to be adopted by hotels and restaurants.
Plastic ban
She said that plastic ban was being implemented strictly by all corporations. In Coimbatore, a few industries supply paper and jute bags free of cost and the corporation is implementing ‘My shopping-my bag’ scheme with German collaboration.
Deputy Mayor Vasrireddy Rambabu, corporators K. Vijayasekhar and Palika Srinivas were present.
