Lucky escape for six as tanker hits car

Seven persons, including a driver, had a narrow escape when the car by which they were travelling was hit by an edible oil tanker on the outskirts of Rajamahendravaram on Thursday.

According to Rajanagaram Inspector of Police, the accident occurred when the tanker was coming in high speed from Kakinada. The car with six passengers and a driver was going to Dwaraka Tirumala from Jaggampeta. When the car driver tried to cross the ADB Road centre near Hanuman statue, the tanker hit the vehicle. The impact was such that the front portion of the car was totally damaged. The injured belong to Surrajupeta in Kotananduru mandal.
