AP Dy CM launches police SHE TEAMS wing in Kakinada

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Home Nimmakayala Chinarajappa has launched the Police SHE TEAMS wing to protect womenfolk from the eve teasing and other onslaughts, at a function held at the JNTUK alumni auditorium here Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he advised the womenfolk and girls to move freely without any fear under the protection of the SHE TEAMS and teach a fitting lesson to the eve teasers and hooligans.

Stating that the state government was according utmost priority for upholding the dignity of womenfolk and protecting their rights, the Home Minister said that the credit for providing property rights to women goes to their party Founder and former Chief Minister late N T Rama Rao.

He said that women were provided the reservation in local bodies during Telugu Desam government regime and proposal was sent to Central government for extending reservation to women in legislative bodies also.

`The government gave 33 percent reservation to women in the recent police recruitment also. Many of the selected women are now receiving training as Sub inspectors and constables. The police SHE TEAMS wing was now effectively functioning in Vijayawada and Rajahmundry and it will be extended to other urban areas also in a phased manner' he added.
