‘Bharat Darshan’ fromcity to begin on March 30

Planning to go on a hassle-free pilgrimage to North India? The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has come out with ‘Bharat Darshan’, a 12-day temple tour package, for the first time from Visakhapatnam, from March 30, 2018.

The temples and sight-seeing places to be covered are Agra, Mathura, New Delhi, Vaishnodevi, Amritsar and Haridwar. The special train will have 12 sleeper class coaches and an attached pantry car. The all-inclusive tariff per person is ₹11,865. The train will leave Bhubaneswar, five minutes past midnight on March 30, and arrive in Visakhapatnam Junction the same morning. It will have halts at Palasa, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram.

The train will halt at Rajahmundry and Vijayawada. The special train will return to Visakhapatnam Junction on April 9. The night accommodation during the tour would be at Dharmashalas/halls and dormitories on multi-sharing basis. Morning tea/coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner and 1-litre drinking water a day will be provided during the entire tour. The package also provides for non-AC road transfers on sharing basis, a tour escort and security guards on the train.

Joint General Manager of IRCTC, South Central Zone, Secunderabad, N. Sanjeevaiah released a pamphlet on the tour package at Visakhapatnam Railway Station on Tuesday. Station Director of Visakhapatnam Railway Station Rajagopal, Station Manager T.S.R. Raju and Vijay Kumar of TFS-Rail Dhaba were present.

“IRCTC East Coast Zone has been merged with IRCTC South Central Zone, Secunderabad, with effect from January this year. This brings Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar under the purview of IRCTC, Secunderabad,” Mr. Sanjeevaiah said.

More tour packages would be planned from Vizag and Bhubaneswar in future. An IRCTC Office would soon be opened in Visakhapatnam, he added.
