Kakinada, Feb 18(UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for roads and Buildings Ch Ayyanna Patrudu said that the work on 404 kms long new National highway-516 that passes through agency areas of East Godavari and neighbouring Visakhapatnam district would commence shortly.
While briefing media persons here on Sunday, he said that the NH-516 was considered to be most prestigious, as it was the only highway that passes through picturesque dense forests between Rajahmundry, Rampachodavaram, Lambasingi, Chinthapalli, Paderu and Vizianagaram town connecting picnic spots and tribal habitations enroute.
It is unique, as it is the most lengthy national highway that passes through the forests and hill.
The central government has sanctioned Rs 2,000 Crore and the detailed project report (DPR) would be ready within a couple of months.
The works execution will commence soon after the DPR is approved, he added.</span>
