Review : Oxygen

The action entertainer film ‘ Oxygen’ with Gopichand as hero , directed by A M Jyotikrishna under the banner of Sri Sairam creations and produced by S Ishwarya is all ready to hit the screen has hit the screens on November 30 after several postponements. Let us how the Oxygen will really giving a much needed breather to Gopichand who is down with flops.

Story : The big wig of Rajamundry Raghupathi( Jagapathi Babu) has long drawn enmity with two other residents of the town who were looking for an opportunity tofinish off his family . To protect his family Raghupati looks for an American alliance for his daughter Shruti (Rashi Khanna and Krishna Prasad(Gopichand )comes for pelli-chupulu from US. But it appears Shruti was not keen to leave her town and though staged staged a master plan to avert the engagement , the hero comes closer to the family.

In this background a visit to theatre is must to know the climax and how Krishna prasad helps the family against opponents and the flash back on the enmity between two families of Rajahmundry.

Plus points :

* Action of Gopichand
* Twist in the story at interval
* Comedy spread.

Minus factors :

* Boring and slow first half
* Uninteresting music
* Graphics in fights

Actors Performance:

* As usual Gopichand stunt talent is captivating with two different characters .
* Anu Emmanuel is contained to guest role while the glamour of Rashi Khanna has brought Oomph from the audience .But both heroines have not earned any kudos for their roles .
* The character actor Jagapathi Babu has shined with his panchakattu and two shades of roles . Comedy of Vennala Kishore,
* Tagubothu Ramesh and Ali comedy is just ok .
* Others Kick Shyam, Chandramohan, Nagivedu, Brahmaji, Abhimanyu Singh,Amit, Prabhakar, Sayaji Shinde, Ashish Vidhyarti have just played their roles well .

Technical division :

* Music and songs by Yuvan Shankar Raja have failed to attract attention, but background music is good enough.Particularly the songs with fights are super.
* Peter Haines -Stunt Selvam fights have audience following but only graphics in fights had no takers.
* Photography of Vetri and Chota K Nayudu is OK . Production values are sound.
* Director A M Jyotikrishna theme is good and the first half appeared a routine cinema but his skills were vibrant and successful in the second half .
* Gopichand does not need any introduction in thriller and action scenes. He has repeated his skills as in films like Shouryam, Loukyam and Zil .The director has displayed in the second half as to why the film was titled as Oxygen.

Finally : While the first half is slow and routine, the thrill begins in the second half .What was goal of Krishna Prasad .Why he came to Rajahmundry was successful conveyed by the director in the second half and the interval twist .We should have some more of such entertainment films It appears that the heroines had only role case for dance and songs .Comedy, Fights and over all the Oxygen is another commercial for masses .
