Rajamahendravaram (AP): Three persons were arrested on charges of extorting money from a realtor after posing as Maoists, police said on Saturday.

The suspects, identified as R Gopi, Umamaheswara Rao and P Veera Venkata Satyanarayana, were apprehended on Friday, Rajamahendravaram Urban district Superintendent of Police B Rajakumari said.
The trio, saying they were Maoists, had threated a realtor and demanded Rs.3 crore from him. The businessman agreed to pay Rs.1 crore. They were nabbed when they came to collect the money, Rajakumari said, adding that a probe was on.
