Corporate medical aid at 50% cost for the poor: Kamineni

Medical and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas has said that the poor will get 50% concession in corporate hospitals who will be referred during medical camps organised or referred by the public representatives.

Inaugurating two-day mega medical camp organised by Rajamahendravaram MP M. Muralimohan on Saturday in SKVT School, he said that government was committed to strengthen all the government hospitals and it already established 30 dialysis centres and 13 more will be opened shortly. He emphasised the need for donors’ support for medical camps which are being organised by the government agencies and public representatives.

He said that government is putting all efforts to fill vacancies of doctors and maintaining sufficient stocks of medicines in all hospitals. He said that government is still pursuing Fathima Institute of Medical Sciences (FIMS) issue with the Centre.

Mr. Muralimohan said that about 40 specialists are attending the camp and on their recommendation they will refer cases to the corporate hospitals. He appealed to the Health Minister to start government nursing training college in Rajamahendravaram.

Earlier, the Minister and the MP along with Mayor P. Rajani Sesha Sai and MLAs garlanded the statue of TDP founder president N.T. Ramarao and lighted lamp to mark the inauguration. City MLA Akula Satyanarayana, Rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, MLCs Adireddy Apparao, Somu Veerraju and others participated in the inauguration ceremony.
