Unmanned level crossings will go by next Sept.: South Central Railway

The South Central Railway has announced that it will be eliminating all the unmanned level crossings by September next year (2018) by taking up construction of Limited Height Subways (LHS) / Road Over Bridges (ROBs) / manning of gates and so on, according to the General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav on Monday.

Directing all the divisional managers to conduct safety drills and track maintenance works meticulously, he said they should identify areas of immediate attention.

Periodical training module implementation should be done for understanding and mitigating the difficulties faced while carrying out the work.

In order to clear extra rush of passengers, 56 special trains will run between Visakhapatnam – Secunderabad, Visakhapatnam – Tirupati, Kacheguda – Kakinada Port and Kacheguda – Krishnarajapuram in October and November.

Train No. 02520 Guwahati-Secunderabad Special Train will depart Guwahati at 6:20 hrs on September 14 (Thursday) and arrive Secunderabad at 4:00 hrs on Saturday. It will stop at Kamakhya, Rangiya Jn, New Bongaigoan, New Coachbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Barsoi, Malda Town, New Farakka Jn, Rampurhat, Bolpur Shantiniketan, Howrah, Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrakh, Jajpur K Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Balugan, Berhampur, Palasa, Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry and Vijayawada.

Cancelled

Due to low patronage, Train no. 07183 Santragachi – Secunderabad special train leaving Santragachi at 2:30 hrs on September 12 has been cancelled, an official spokesperson said.
