Naidu to open Urban Police, MCR buildings

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the newly constructed Rajamahendravaram Urban Police office building on Thursday. The Urban District Police office at Lalacheruvu near ONGC base complex was constructed at a cost of Rs. 14 crore.

Later, Mr. Naidu will inaugurate the Municipal Corporation office of Rajamahendravaram. The building with spacious accommodation was built with Rs. 20 crore.

The Chief Minister will also participate in ‘Jalasiri harathi’ at Phuskarghat. East Godavari District Collector Kartikeya Misra along with Urban SP B. Rajakumari inspected the arrangements at Rajamahendravaram on Wednesday. Collector directed the officials to make necessary arrangements for the visit of the Chief Minister.

Mr. Naidu will also inaugurate the new building of the regional office of Crime Investigation Department in the Urban SP office complex. The department was set up in 2006 and it has been taking up cases in East and West Godavari districts. It was functioning in a rented building in Rajamahendravaram. With the initiative taken by Additional DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, stone was laid for the new building by former DGP J.V. Ramudu in 2015.

The new office now can accommodate an SP, Additional SP, six DSPs, 12 CIs and SIs with separate chambers. Legal advisory room, multi-purpose hall, pantry room and dormitory for staff were constructed in the new building with separate rooms for women employees.
