TDP never keeps up promises: Jagan Mohan Reddy

Kakinada: Affirming that the time of reckoning has come to see off the cheats who go back on election promises, YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has appealed to the electorate to teach those who go back on their assurances a fitting lesson.

Speaking at the road show as part of the electioneering to the Kakinada municipal corporation here on Sunday, he said, “You have to teach those opportunists a fitting lesson through your vote. Chandrababu Naidu had given numerous promises during the elections and went back after coming to power and did not fulfill a single promise.”

Such people should be rejected outright and you need not give credence to Chief Minister’s remark that the vote would become stale if voted to YSR Congress. In fact it is the other way round as a vote to TDP becomes stale as the ruling party has gone back on the poll promises.

Naidu has promised to bring in Petroleum University to East Godavari district during his electioneering and the University did not see light of the day. He has promised to build a second port in Kakinada but that was not fulfilled as well. Among other things promised to the district are setting up of Petroleum Corridor, converting Kakinada into a Smart City, setting up of Coir based industries, Ship Building Industry, Aqua Processing Unit, IT hub at Rajahmundry and others but not single promise was fulfilled, he said amidst cheers from the large gathering.

He has promised jobs to the youth and unemployment stipend but failed miserably in his 39-month term till now. He promised to remove belt shops but on the contrary they have increased after TDP came to power. He promised to waive loans of farmers and DWACRA women groups but failed miserably drawing the ire of all sections of people, he said. I appeal to you to vote for YSR Congress candidate and say no to the people and the party that goes back on poll promises, he said.
