Rangasthalam’s budget goes haywire

Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam 1985 has been in the news for multiple reasons — its plot, the hero’s character and also for its huge sets. Directed by Sukumar, the film was initially planned for a release in the month of October.

But now, the release date has been postponed to the summer of 2018 as the production costs have gone out of control, and so have the schedules. The film is produced by Mythri Movie makers who bankrolled projects like Srimanthudu and Janatha Garage.

The first schedule of the movie was shot on the banks of River Godavari in Rajahmundry. Later, huge sets were erected in Hyderabad to create a massive village background and a huge amount of money was pumped in for this.

To make it look much better, tons of sand was also brought. Now, the story demands for a few visual effects and so, on the whole, the film will cost much more than the initial estimates which were given to the producers. This is how sometimes even well-planned schedules go for a toss.

Rangasthalam may become one of the costliest movies of Telugu cinema, albeit unexpectedly.

The film is a love story of a countryside man with hearing impairment and a rich girl who belongs to the same village. Samantha is playing the female lead. Aadhi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu are playing key roles.
