Four held, 45 bikes worth Rs. 25 lakh recovered

The prime accused was earlier sent to juvenile home

The Rajamahendravaram Urban Crime police arrested four youth and recovered 45 bikes worth Rs. 25 lakh on Tuesday.
Addressing press conference, Urban SP B. Rajakumari said that the four youth — Tetala Tejasai Venkata Durga Reddy of Artamuru village in Mandapeta mandal, Gadamsetti Yelisha, Telagareddy Satyanarayana and Rowthula Durgarao of Kothatungapadu village in Rajanagaram mandal — were taken into custody.
Passion to ride
The SP said that the first accused Venkata Durga Reddy had a strong desire to ride bike when he was studying ITI in Mandapeta during 2015. He had stolen a bike in Anaparthi and caught by the police and was sent to juvenile home. After release, he along with three others — Yelisha, Satyanarayana and Durgarao — started lifting bikes in Rajamahendravaram, Mandapeta, Ramachandrapuram, Draksharama and Visakhapatnam. Most of the bikes (32) have been stolen from Rajamahedravaram.
Crime DSP A. Trinatha Rao, Inspector B. Sai Ramesh and law and order SI K. Nagarjuna raided the places in Rajamahendravaram and Kotha Tungapadu villages where all the 45 bikes were kept in godowns for sale.
The SP congratulated DSP Trinatharao and his team for catching the offenders.
