13 swine flu cases were reported in East Godavari district in the last two days

As many as 13 swine flu cases were reported in East Godavari district in the last two days and the Medical and Health Department was put on alert and asked to take immediate steps to check the spread of the disease. Most of the cases were reported from Ravulapalem and Rajamahendravaram.
According to A.P. Vaidya Vidhana Parishat district coordinator Ramesh Kishore, 10 cases were reported on Wednesday from Ravulapalem and Rajamahendravaram, while three cases were reported from Ravulapalem on Thursday. The first case was reported from Ravulapalem where Satti Srija (15), a 10th class student, was admitted to the area hospital with high fever and breathlessness. Another girl with same symptoms was admitted to the hospital, while her mother died of the disease on Monday.
Dr Kishore said that Bharat Kumar, a businessman of Rajamahendravaram, is getting treated at a private hospital and three more were also admitted to it with the symptoms of swine flu.

A neurologist’s wife is also getting treatment for the disease. “With more cases are being reported, special wards to treat exclusively swine flu cases have been opened in the government hospitals of Rajamahendravaram and Kakinada following a directive by the District Collector,” Dr Kishore said.Read More…
