Cases booked against school director

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM

Police on Thursday booked cases on Kanchi Madhusudana Rao, director of city-based Holy Angels School, under various sections of IPC and under the provisions of the SC/ST Act and the Juvenile Justice Act for ill-treating tribal girl students and in failing to provide proper living conditions in his school. Police launched a manhunt for Madhusudana Rao.
On Wednesday, the students under the banner of the CPI made a representation to the ITDA Project Officer at Rampachodavaram, seeking action against the director.
Meanwhile, Rajamahendravaram Sub-Collector Vijaya Krishnan inspected the school and the hostel. She found that students of three classes are stuffed in one room and basic facilities such as toilets are woefully inadequate.
When the girls told the official that the director used to thrash them without reason, she said stern action would be taken on him. She told the students that alternative accommodation would be provided to them very soon.
