One held; booty worth ` 38.86 lakh seized

Rajamahendravaram: Rajamahendravaram Urban police nabbed a dreaded robber here on Saturday and recovered gold, silver and cash worth of Rs 38.86 lakh from him.

 The police have recovered 1328 grams of gold, 1 ½ kgs  silver and cash worth  Rs 1.40 lakh from the culprit. The burglar, Kolusu Srinu, hails from Koti Kesavaram village of Korukonda mandal.

According to the Urban SP B Raja Kumari, Kolusi Srinu was previously engaged in iron business and indulged himself in the practice of identifying houses that were locked during his business.

He began breaking into houses since 2012 and got imprisoned several times for his offences. During the night time, he broke into JaggampetaRangampetaRajanagaramGokavaram, Kamaraju Peta, Korukonda and Sitha Nagaram villages.

 He was involved in 33 burglaries and was spending money lavishly. Suspecting his  lavish life style, the police took Srinu into custody and he confessed of his involvement in many thefts.

 The police recovered the preserved gold and money from his house.The Urban SP has announced a cash reward to the constable Ramesh who has nabbed the culprit.
