As Kapu patriarch Mudragada Padmanabam is gearing up for a massive public meeting demanding reservation to Kapus on September 11, there seems to be a deliberate attempt from the AP government to scuttle the meeting in all possible ways. It is evident with the CID issuing notices to 20 suspects along with YSR Congress leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy in connection with Tuni violence. The CID sleuths summoned them to CID offices located in Rajahmundry and Guntur on September 4 for interrogation. However, Bhuamana urged the CID officials that he would be able to appear before the office on September 6 citing various reasons. Since Mudragada’s deadline to the AP government draws to closure this month, the Kapu patriarch announced a public meeting in Rajahmundry to carve out future course of action to mount pressure on the government to implement the promises it had made to the Kapu community. At this juncture, the CID issuing notices to the accused in the Tuni case is sending different signals. There is a probability that Mudragada would again stage an indefinite-hunger strike demanding the release of the suspects if the latter are arrested following the investigation. If so, his Mudragada’s strike might get sidetracked from its path. Now there are several doubts being raised following the development. Is there a deliberate attempt from the AP government to scuttle the public meeting? – is one question that causing fear the Kapu leaders. Meanwhile, Mudragada is yet to respond over the CID notices to the suspects in the case. Will the CID issues notices to the suspects every time Mudragada gives call for a meeting.
