Ganta launches new AP’s first Eamcet counselling

Visakhapatnam: Human Resources Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao launched the first Eamcet counseling process after the State bifurcation here at the local Government Polytechnic on Friday. However, parents and candidates faced a tough time following sudden and heavy downpour for over an hour with the lack of infrastructure facilities.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the State government was committed to provide quality engineering education in the State for which it was taking all necessary steps and as part of it, 6,000 engineering seats were cancelled and five engineering colleges which lacked infrastructure and proper faculty were asked to shut down this academic year.

He said that the counselling was being held at 34 centres in Andhra Pradesh but due to the vindictive attitude of the Telangana government, they could not set up a counselling centre in Hyderabad. As the AP government is also intend to turn the State as a knowledge hub by bringing important reforms in the present education system, expert committees were formed to give suggestions.
