Hyderabad: The Wakf properties in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States would undergo GIS (Geographical Information System) mapping through the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC). Union Ministry of Minority Affairs has decided to do take up the work of GIS mapping of the Wakf properties in both the States. As part of this, a meeting was organised by the Director, Minorities Welfare with the officials of NRSC, officials of Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Survey Commissioner of Wakf and Wakf Board Officials on Wednesday. During the meeting, various modalities to be followed for GIS mapping were discussed. The issue of integration of GIS mapping with the MIS information was also discussed, so that it can be used as an important tool for effective management of the Wakf properties.
