RINL targets Rs 18k cr turnover in 2015-16

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has set a target of achieving a turnover of around Rs 18,000 crore for the 2015-16 fiscal. Releasing the `Vision Document 2025' at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Wednesday , RINL chairman and managing director P Madhusudan said that targets of 5 MT of hot metal, 4.9 MT of liquid steel, 4.3 MT of saleable steel production and turnover of around Rs 18,000 crore can be achieved with meticulous planning and execution. Addressing senior officials of the company on the occasion of the start of the new financial year, Madhusudan said the focus should shift from “produce to sell“ to “produce to suit customer needs“ in this competitive market and for this the marketing department should utilize the ERP CRM tool effectively.

He exhorted the works department to focus on the maintenance aspects to strengthen he plant operations and equipment life. He mentioned that he good techno-economic parameters help bring down the cost of production. He further highlighted the need to achieve 5% reduction in conversion cost in each shop floor to improve the bottomline.

As part of the new vision statement released on Wednesday, RINL said it wants “to be he most efficient steel maker having the largest single loca ion shore based steel plant in he country“.
