Smriti Irani to lay foundation for 3 premier Institutes in AP

The foundation for three premier educational institutions will be laid in post-AP bifurcation scenario in an attempt to provide level playing field to students from the residual state of AP for world-class education.

Union Human Resources Minister Smt. Smriti Irani will lay the foundation stone for three educational institutions on 28th February, Saturday in Chittoor district   around the Sri City in the state in presence of Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu and other state dignitaries.

The three central institutions coming up are Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Information Technology Chittoor (IIIT). ‘These institutions will become epicenter of Knowledge and Education in the country ‘ says the CM 

These Institutes will tie up with various national and international institutes and Universities abroad, so that students have an opportunity to interact with the faculty and broaden their horizons. Also, the central institutions will act as a catalyst to create talent pool and numerous career opportunities.

The foundation stone for the sixth Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) will be laid in temple town of Tirupati. It will focus on research facilities on a “smart” and an environment-friendly “green campus” and mentored by IISER Pune.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Tirupati will be established in an area of 590 acres at Meralapaka Village in Yerpedu Mandal, near Tirupati in Chittoor District and mentored by IIT Madras along with the new institution in Palakkad, Kerala. The third institution is the Indian Institute of Information Technology Chittoor (IIIT), Chittoor is being set up at Sri City, Satyavedu Mandal, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh.
