Youths in masks attacked women and decamped with gold ornaments in Rajahmundry and its outskirts in day light on Friday and Saturday.
According to Rajahmundry Urban SP S. Harikrishna, two youth came on a bike to Molli Ramanamurthy’s house in Navabharath Nagar in Balajipeta on the outskirts of Rajahmundry on Saturday at around 8.30 a.m., looking for Mr. Ramanamurthy. When his wife Amala told them that he was taking bath, the youth left and returned after one hour. They attacked Amala and tied her hands and legs. They decamped with a booty including gold ornaments, silver and some cash.

In another incident that took place in Mallaiahpeta on Friday, two youth came on a bike to Ravipati Venkatalakshmi’s house and asked for rented accomodation. When she was showing a portion of her house to them, the youth tied her with a saree and decamped with her gold ornaments. The SP said that he formed special teams to nab such gangs.
