Lunar Eclipse on April 4 Tirumala doors to remain shut

Following lunar eclipse on April 4,  the Tirumala temple will be closed for almost 11 hours, six hours prior to the grahanam which is a traditional practice. As the grahanam is scheduled to occur from 3.45 pm to 7.15 pm, the doors of Tirumala temple will be closed from 9.30 am to 8 pm

Hence the TTD has cancelled all arjita sevas for the day including the Kalyanotsavam, Dolotsavam (Ujal Seva), Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankarana Sevas while Suprabhatam, Thomala. Even the Archana will be performed in Ekantham. Pilgrims are requested to make note of these changes.

Meanwhile as on that day, the final day of annual Vasanthotsavam festival is also observed, slight changes in Snapana Tirumanjanam have been made. Instead of observing the Snapanam to the deities in the noon, following the eclipse, the ritual will be performed between 5am to 6:30am and all the deities will be brought back to the srivari temple before 9:30am.
