Rajahmundry: The management of Annavaram Devasthanam, the adobe of Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swami, will celebrate Telugu New Year’s Day, worshipping the Godavari, the lifeline of lakhs of farmers in East and West Godavari districts. Executive Officer of Annavaram Eeranki Venkata Jagannatham said the celebrations would be held at Pushkara Ghat.
Addressing the media here on Thursday along with Public Relations Officer D Krishna Rao and others, Jagannatham said that keeping in mind the spiritual and cultural ethos, they had planned different programmes from 4 pm to 8 pm. The Executive Officer said that would felicitate Sanskrit scholars Chirravuri Srirama Sarma and Maha Mahopadhyaya and President’s Award winner Viswanatha Gopalakrishna on the eve of Ugadi.
